West Asia Crisis Live: US Iran vs Israel War Day 7 Updates

Tensions remain high in West Asia. Iran has launched a new wave of missile and drone attacks on Israel, US military bases, and several countries in the region. Since the war began, 1,332 people have died in Iran, more than 100 in Lebanon, and nearly a dozen in Israel.

The Israeli military has claimed that 50 of its fighter jets attacked an underground bunker in Tehran built for Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Israel claimed in a statement that the complex stretched entirely beneath the streets of central Tehran and included meeting rooms. The statement also said that senior officials continued to use the facility even after Khamenei’s assassination.

UN human rights chief Volker Turk called for a swift investigation into the Iranian school attack that killed 175 people. Speaking to reporters in Geneva, Turk said the United States has announced an investigation into the attack. The United Nations wants this investigation to be completed quickly, transparently, and impartially.
