UN human rights chief Volker Turk called for a swift investigation into the Iranian school attack that killed 175 people. Speaking to reporters in Geneva, Turk said the United States has announced an investigation into the attack. The United Nations wants this investigation to be completed quickly, transparently, and impartially. He stressed that the investigation must be swift and that those responsible for the attack must be held accountable. The victims must receive justice and appropriate compensation. Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the US is investigating the attack in Minab.
Israel Launches Fresh Airstrikes in South Lebanon
Israel has once again carried out airstrikes in southern Lebanon. Al-Jazeera, citing local media reports, reported that Israeli fighter jets targeted several areas in southern Lebanon. The airstrikes took place near the towns of Marwanih and Yahmar al-Shafiq. Several explosions were heard in the area, and the situation remained tense following the attacks.
India Appeals to Its Citizens Living in Qatar
In view of the current security situation, India has requested all its citizens residing in Qatar to strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the Qatari authorities, particularly the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Ministry has advised all Qatari residents to remain in safe places, not to venture out except for essential circumstances, and to stay away from windows and open areas.
The advisory states that Qatar’s airspace remains closed and flights are temporarily suspended. Qatar Airways will issue the next update on March 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. (Doha time). All passengers are requested to contact their respective airlines.
Sri Lanka: Injured Iranian Soldiers Taken to Hospital
A Sri Lankan Navy ship carrying Iranian sailors rescued from the US attack arrived at the Galle naval base, with the injured sailors being taken away in ambulances.
The death toll in Iran has reached 1,332.
The war, which began on February 28, is now in its seventh day. The death toll is rising daily. According to the Iranian Red Crescent, at least 1,332 people have been killed in Iran so far in US and Israeli attacks.
Indonesia will Begin Evacuating Its Citizens From Iran.
According to a Foreign Ministry official, Indonesia will begin evacuating its citizens from Iran today. Al Jazeera reported that the evacuation process will begin gradually today, and the first phase will be conducted through Azerbaijan. The first group of 32 Indonesians is expected to arrive in Jakarta on Monday or Tuesday.
There are a total of 329 Indonesian citizens in Iran, most of whom are students in the city of Qom. According to the ministry, about half a million Indonesians live in countries in the eastern Middle East, but the Indonesian government is not currently considering evacuating people from other countries in the region.
IRGC Claims Israeli Heron Drone Shot Down
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims to have shot down an Israeli Heron drone flying over the central city of Isfahan, the Tehran Times reported. The Heron drone is Israel’s largest unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and was introduced into service in 2007.
Qatar Airways Flights Cancelled
Due to the closure of Qatar’s airspace, Qatar Airways scheduled flights are temporarily suspended. Qatar Airways flights will resume only after the Civil Aviation Authority announces the safe reopening of the airspace. Saudi Arabia Shoots Down Another Drone
The Saudi Arabian Defense Ministry says it has intercepted and destroyed another drone northeast of Riyadh. This comes after the ministry reported the downing of three drones east of Riyadh.
