What is curling? (Curling Game)

Curling is a sport involving ice, stones, brooms, and shouting. Like cricket, the game begins with a handshake and a coin toss. Two teams of four take turns throwing 44-pound stones at a 12-foot house.

Two circles, each 12 feet apart, are 150 feet apart. Each team throws eight stones, and the team that lands the most stones in the center of the circle’s red line wins. He earns points. Each team has a captain, called the skip, who throws the stones. The stones are thrown in a pre-determined rotation. And they slide across the ice in a curled motion, which is why the sport is called curling. During each end, players can throw guards to protect the home side.

A tie is a draw, and the score is determined by takeouts, which remove the opposing team’s stone. The skip then spends the rest of the game screaming like a madman, But they’re actually strongly advising their players to brush the ice in front of the stone. Brushing can change the speed and direction of the shot.

After each team has thrown their eight stones, the team closest to the center of the house scores. Or if they have more than one stone closer than the other team’s stones, Those will also count. When all ends have been played, the team with the most points wins.
